Flax reduces total cholesterol, including the LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides. This is also in combimation with exercise and eating a low fat diet, yet you do need healthy fats for your skin, brain, hair and eyes. Since it’s usually high in fiber, studies show that it will help combat diabetes, constipastion and weight gain. For mental health, it’s said that flax seeds will help combat the blues. How so you ask? 2-3 Tablespoons daily for 8 weeks has the benefits for 2/3 of people with depression to feel happier and have a greater sense of well being.

The health omega-3 fatty acid in flax seed is docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) which is essential for the proper function of brain cells. With this said, and there is alot more info out there on flax, it’s def. benefical to add this little seed. Many people fear fat, but with out it, you may be seeing hair loss, fatigue or even bouting the blues.
